Sir,

10th August, 1933.

With reference to your letter KT.5/3 of 10th May,

1933, on the subject of an area for an officers' mess, I am

directed to inform you that Government is prepared to grant

to the Royal Air Force an Area as shown coloured red on the

attached plan, subject to the following conditions:-

(a) The grant to be made on payment by the Royal Air

Force of the sum of $36,625, being 25 times the

annual Crown Rent which would be reserved for the

area if demised by the Crown.

(b) User of the area to be restricted to the purpose

of a Royal AirForce officers' mess.

(c) The area to be returned to the Colonial Government

on its ceasing to be required for that purpose,

and if such return shall take place before the

expiry of a period of 25 years, a proportionate

part of the sum of $36,625 shall be refunded to

the Royal Air Force.

(d) No Crown Rent shall be charged for the area.

(e) Payment of half the cost, as determined by the

Honourable the Director of Public Works, of

construction by Government of so much of an access
